Every dispatch begins with a letter from the person behind The Photo Dispatch. Expect observations, ideas and inspiration drawn from the joy of photography, with fresh perspectives to explore throughout the year.
Think of it as a note from a fellow photography enthusiast, with something to get you thinking and a reason to take your camera out again.
A sealed photographic mission
Inside every dispatch is a mission designed to give you something new to photograph.
Some missions will encourage you to explore a broad idea. Others will get you looking at something specific in a different way. You might find inspiration in light, food, familiar objects or the world right outside your front door.
You'll get a prompt and some guidance to help you get started, but the photographs you take are entirely up to you. There's no single right answer, and plenty of room to make the mission your own.
A photographic print to keep
Every month includes a 6 × 4 inch photographic print, chosen to complement the dispatch's ideas and themes.
Keep it, display it, add it to a collection or simply enjoy taking a closer look. It's a little reminder of what makes photography so rewarding: seeing something worth capturing in the first place.
A five-minute sidequest
Fancy trying something straight away? Turn over your mission card for a smaller photographic challenge you can tackle in around five minutes.
It's an easy way to get started when you have a spare moment, without taking away from the bigger mission waiting to be explored.
Photography, your way
You don't need to be an expert. You don't even need a dedicated camera.
Use your phone, a film camera or a digital camera. The Photo Dispatch isn't a technical course, and there's no pressure to master settings, complete assignments or share your photographs with anyone.
Take your mission on a walk you were already planning, explore it over a weekend or spend an afternoon seeing where it leads. Take a dozen photographs or just one. Follow the prompt closely or see where your own ideas take you.
And if life gets busy? Your mission will be waiting when you're ready.

A rolling monthly subscription costs £9.99 per month until 31 December 2026, as part of our introductory offer. The standard price will then be £12.99 per month.
Prefer to commit to a longer stretch of inspiration? Three-, six- and twelve-month subscription options are also available.

Order by the 28th of the month to make sure you’re included in the next mailout. Missions are dispatched by the 5th of each month.
