A reason to pick up your camera
Photography is easy to put off. There’s always tomorrow, something else to do or another scroll through someone else’s photographs.
The Photo Dispatch gives you a reason to make time for your own.
Each month, a little something arrives through your letterbox: a thoughtful letter, a 6 × 4 inch photographic print and a sealed mission card waiting to be opened. Together, they offer fresh inspiration, a different way of looking at photography and a creative challenge to try for yourself.
Read the letter. Spend time with the print. Then open your mission and discover a photography brief designed to get you looking, thinking and making photographs in a new way. There’s a clear starting point, but plenty of freedom to make the idea your own. And when you only have five minutes, there’s a short exercise on the back of the card.
You don’t need expensive equipment, specialist knowledge or spectacular scenery. Your phone is fine. Your everyday surroundings are full of possibilities. The idea is to notice more, experiment a little and make photographs you might otherwise never have taken.
There’s no need to share your results, keep up with a schedule or catch up if life gets busy. Your mission will be there when you’re ready.
A little inspiration in the post. A fresh perspective behind the camera. And a reason to make photography part of your everyday life.
